Textile Waste Shredder: A Textile Solid Waste Treatment Equipment Connecting RDF/SRF Preparation

In the field of textile solid waste resource utilization and energy recovery, the textile waste shredder is a core piece of equipment that connects textile waste treatment with the RDF (waste-derived fuel) and SRF (solid recycled fuel) preparation processes. Textile waste has a complex composition, encompassing pure cotton, chemical fibers (polyester, nylon), blended fabrics, waste clothing, and home textile scraps, some of which also contain metal parts such as zippers and buttons. This equipment can specifically shred these diverse wastes into uniform fragments of 10-40mm, while simultaneously separating impurities. This provides pre-treated materials that meet fuel standards for subsequent drying, forming, and other RDF/SRF preparation stages, significantly improving the energy utilization rate of textile solid waste.

The core structure of the equipment is designed around "adapting to multi-material textile waste + meeting fuel preparation requirements," including a multi-functional feeding system, a composite shredding system, an impurity separation system, and a temperature and humidity controlled discharge system. The feeding system uses an inclined, sealed hopper paired with a hydraulic pusher with comb-like teeth. The comb-like teeth can comb through clumps of textile waste, preventing loose material from clogging the feed inlet. The hydraulic pushing force can be adjusted according to the thickness of the waste, ensuring stable conveying of large pieces of waste (such as bundles of old clothing). The composite shredding system uses a combination of "dual-shaft coarse shredding + single-shaft fine shredding". The two-stage structure consists of two phases: a coarse shredding stage, where a high-torque alloy blade roller shears large pieces of waste material, breaking down the fiber connections in clothing and fabrics, and initially breaking tangled long fibers; and a fine shredding stage, where fine-toothed blades refine the material to the target particle size, with a wear-resistant coating on the blade surface to handle both the flexibility of cotton and the high strength of synthetic fibers.

A rotating anti-tangling scraper is added to the side of the blade roller to clean tangled fibers in real time and prevent equipment jamming. The impurity separation system is equipped with a magnetic sorting device and a vibrating screen at the bottom of the shredding chamber. The magnetic device separates metal parts (such as zippers and buttons) from the waste material, while the vibrating screen filters out fine impurities (such as dust and thread ends), reducing interference with subsequent processing. The temperature and humidity control discharge system uses air cooling and dehumidification devices to control the temperature of the shredded material below 35℃ and the moisture content below 18%, preventing material mold growth or fiber adhesion due to high temperatures, and meeting the material humidity and looseness requirements before RDF/SRF molding. During operation, textile waste enters the coarse tearing chamber through the feed hopper. The dual-shaft cutter rollers break it into 80-120mm blocks, which are then conveyed to the fine tearing chamber for further refining into 10-40mm fragments. During this process, an impurity separation system removes metals and fine impurities. Finally, after temperature and humidity controlled treatment, the material is discharged from the outlet, completing the pretreatment process.

Compared to ordinary shredding equipment, this equipment boasts three core advantages in RDF/SRF production scenarios: First, it offers strong material compatibility. Its two-stage shredding structure and anti-tangling design can handle over 90% of textile waste types, eliminating the need for pre-sorting and achieving a shredding qualification rate of over 95%. Second, it offers high fuel adaptability. Through precise particle size control and temperature and humidity control, the output material particle size deviation is ≤5mm, and the moisture content is consistently between 12% and 18%, directly meeting the particle size and moisture requirements for RDF/SRF forming, reducing subsequent drying and crushing processes, and lowering overall production costs. Third, it balances energy efficiency and environmental protection. Utilizing a variable frequency dual-motor drive, it automatically adjusts the speed according to the waste composition, achieving a processing capacity of 500-1200kg per hour, with unit energy consumption 22% lower than general-purpose shredders. Simultaneously, the sealed chamber and dust collection device reduce the diffusion of fiber dust and odors during shredding, meeting environmental production standards.

Operation and maintenance must be strictly implemented in accordance with RDF/SRF preparation standards: Before starting the machine, the gap of the fine tearing blades must be adjusted according to the target fuel particle size, and the adsorption strength of the magnetic sorting device and the screening accuracy of the vibrating screen must be checked; when processing textile waste with high moisture content (such as damp old clothes), the power of the dehumidification device must be increased to ensure that the output moisture content meets the standard; in daily maintenance, the residual fibers and impurities in the shredding chamber and vibrating screen must be cleaned every 2 days to prevent accumulation from affecting the operation of the equipment; the wear of the blades must be checked monthly, and when the blade wear exceeds 2mm, it must be sharpened or replaced in time; the hydraulic pushing system and sorting device must be calibrated quarterly to ensure that the equipment stably outputs pre-treated materials that meet the requirements of RDF/SRF preparation. At present, this equipment has been widely used in waste clothing recycling plants, solid waste treatment workshops of textile production enterprises, and solid waste energy treatment centers, becoming a key piece of equipment for the "reduction, harmlessness, and resource utilization" treatment of textile solid waste, providing solid equipment support for the large-scale development of the RDF/SRF industry.
