Waste Leather Shredder: Core Equipment for Waste Leather Resource Utilization

In the field of solid waste from leather processing and waste leather goods recycling, the waste leather shredder is the core equipment for reducing the volume, purifying, and reusing waste leather. It can process natural waste leather such as cowhide, sheepskin, and pigskin, as well as artificial waste leather such as PU and PVC, covering tanneries' scraps, waste leather shoes, bags, and sofa leather remnants. It can also handle composite waste leather containing small amounts of stitching and metal rivets, shredding it into uniform blocks of 15-45mm. This provides high-quality pre-treatment raw materials for subsequent crushing, pulping (for recycled leather), or degradation, significantly improving the recycling rate of waste leather.

The core structure of the equipment is designed around "addressing leather toughness + ensuring recycling purity," including a tough material feeding system, a powerful shredding system, an impurity separation system, and an anti-sticking discharge system. The feeding system uses a hydraulically driven flatbed pusher with an anti-slip rubber layer to stably push thick, easily slippery waste leather, preventing material deviation and jamming during feeding. The core of the shredding system is a dual-shaft high-torque cutter roller equipped with "eagle-beak" high-strength alloy blades. The blades are specially quenched to a hardness of HRC60-63, powerfully cutting leather fibers and seams. The gap between the cutter rollers can be adjusted according to the leather thickness (2-5mm) to ensure thorough shredding without leaving large pieces.

The impurity separation system has a magnetic sorting roller at the bottom of the shredding chamber, which automatically adsorbs impurities such as metal rivets and zipper heads from the waste leather, reducing the purification pressure in subsequent recycling processes. The anti-sticking discharge system uses an inclined stainless steel guide chute with a high-frequency vibration device to prevent the shredded leather fragments from sticking and accumulating due to grease, ensuring smooth discharge. During operation, waste leather is fed into the hopper, and a hydraulic pusher pushes it into the shredding chamber. Dual-shaft cutter rollers rotate in opposite directions to shear and crush the leather, while a magnetic sorting roller simultaneously separates metallic impurities. Finally, qualified fragments are discharged through a vibrating guide chute, completing the pre-treatment for crushing and recycling.

Compared to ordinary shredding equipment, this equipment has three core advantages: First, it has strong handling capacity for tough materials. The dual-shaft high-torque design can easily shred thick waste leather up to 30mm thick, without encountering problems such as "unbreakable" or "jamming," achieving a crushing qualification rate of over 97%. Second, it has highly efficient impurity separation. The magnetic sorting rollers can remove over 95% of metallic impurities, reducing equipment wear and raw material contamination in subsequent recycling processing. Third, it has wide adaptability, compatible with both natural and synthetic waste leather, eliminating the need for batch processing, and can handle complex waste leather with oil stains and seams, reducing manual sorting costs.

Operation and maintenance precautions: Before starting the machine, adjust the gap between the blade rollers according to the thickness of the waste leather and check the adsorption strength of the magnetic sorting rollers; when processing waste leather with a large number of metal parts (such as old leather bags), large metal parts can be manually removed first to extend the blade life; in daily maintenance, clean the residual leather fibers and impurities in the shredding chamber weekly, check the blade wear monthly, and replace the special hydraulic oil in the hydraulic system quarterly to ensure stable operation of the equipment. Currently, this equipment is widely used in tanneries, waste leather recycling companies, and recycled leather production plants, providing key equipment support for the recycling of waste leather.
