OCC Waste Shredder: Core Equipment for Corrugated Cardboard Box Resource Utilization

In the field of waste paper recycling and recycled papermaking, the OCC waste shredder is the core equipment for reducing the volume, removing impurities, and reusing old corrugated cardboard boxes (OCC). It can process various types of OCC waste, including waste express delivery boxes, corrugated boxes for appliance packaging, and industrial corrugated cushioning materials. Even OCC waste mixed with tape, packing straps, and small amounts of paper scraps can be efficiently processed, shredding it into uniform pieces of 20-50mm. This provides high-quality pre-treatment raw materials for subsequent deinking, pulping, and other recycled papermaking processes, significantly improving the recycling rate of OCC waste and the quality of recycled paper.

The core structure of the equipment is designed around "adapting to the soft characteristics of OCC + ensuring recycling purity," including an anti-clogging feeding system, a high-efficiency shredding system, an impurity separation system, and a smooth discharge system. The feeding system uses an inclined wide-mouth feed hopper, paired with a spiral pusher with material-pulling teeth. The material-pulling teeth can loosen clumps of OCC waste, preventing feed blockage due to the loose material, while stably pushing the material to the shredding chamber. The core of the shredding system is a single-shaft high-speed cutter roller, equipped with "comb-shaped" high-strength alloy blades. The blade spacing is precisely controlled at 5-10mm, which can quickly cut the fiber structure of corrugated paper and prevent paper from wrapping around the cutter shaft. The speed of the cutter roller can be adjusted according to the thickness of the OCC waste (800-1200r/min) to ensure uniform shredding.

The impurity separation system is equipped with an airflow separator and a vibrating screen at the bottom of the shredding chamber. The airflow separator can separate light tape and paper scraps, while the vibrating screen filters out heavy impurities such as stones and metal scraps, reducing the purification pressure of subsequent recycling processes. The discharge system uses a conveyor belt with guide plates to prevent the accumulation of shredded paper pieces and ensure smooth discharge. During operation, OCC waste enters through the feed hopper, is loosened and pushed into the shredding chamber by the pusher, and is sheared and crushed by a high-speed rotating single-shaft cutter roller. Simultaneously, an impurity separation system removes impurities, and finally, qualified paper pieces are discharged via a conveyor belt, completing the pre-treatment for crushing and recycling.

Compared to ordinary shredders, this equipment has three core advantages: First, excellent anti-clogging effect; the comb-shaped cutters and pushing teeth work together to completely solve the problem of loose OCC waste easily clogging, achieving a continuous operation rate of over 96%. Second, highly efficient impurity separation; dual impurity removal via airflow and vibrating screen removes over 92% of impurities, improving the purity of recycled paper raw materials. Third, high processing efficiency; the cutter roller speed and feeding design optimized for OCC characteristics allow for a processing capacity of 800-1500 kg per hour, 40% higher than general shredders.

Operation and maintenance precautions: Before starting the machine, adjust the blade gap and blade roller speed according to the thickness of the OCC waste, and check the airflow separation device's wind speed; when processing OCC waste with a large amount of tape, the airflow speed can be appropriately increased to enhance the tape separation effect; in daily maintenance, clean the shredding chamber and vibrating screen of residual impurities weekly, check the blade wear monthly, and add grease to the bearings quarterly to ensure stable equipment operation. Currently, this equipment is widely used in waste paper recycling plants and recycled paper enterprises, providing key equipment support for the recycling of OCC waste and the green development of the paper industry.
