Garden Waste Shredder: Turning Waste into Treasure, Facilitating the Production of Waste-Derived Fuel (RDF)

In urban greening maintenance and garden management, a large amount of garden waste, such as dead branches, fallen leaves, and pruned shrub branches, is continuously generated. Traditional treatment methods, such as incineration, easily cause air pollution, while landfill occupies land resources and easily breeds bacteria. The emergence of the garden waste shredder provides an efficient solution to this problem—it can precisely shred garden waste and process it into recyclable waste-derived fuel (RDF), realizing the resource transformation of "turning waste into treasure."

Garden Waste Shredder

Garden waste shredders can also be called waste wood shredders. With high-strength cutter shafts and sharp alloy blades, they can efficiently crush garden waste of different shapes. The equipment adopts a two-stage processing technology of "coarse crushing + fine crushing." First, the coarse crushing module breaks up branches and clumps of fallen leaves with a diameter of 10-20 cm, and then the fine crushing module grinds them into uniform materials with a particle size of 5-10 mm. During the process, the equipment's impurity removal device automatically separates impurities such as stones and metals from the material, ensuring the purity of the crushed material and laying the foundation for subsequent RDF processing. Simultaneously, the equipment adopts a closed-loop operation design, coupled with a negative pressure dust removal system, which effectively controls dust and noise pollution, meeting environmental protection production standards.

The crushed garden waste material can be converted into waste-derived fuel (RDF) through subsequent processes such as drying and molding. RDF features high calorific value, low moisture content, and stable combustion, with a calorific value reaching 14-18 MJ/kg, close to that of low-grade coal. It can be widely used in waste-to-energy plants, industrial boilers, biomass heating stations, and other scenarios. Compared to directly burning raw garden waste, RDF combustion efficiency is increased by more than 30%, and it can reduce emissions of harmful gases such as dioxins and sulfides, achieving the dual benefits of pollutant reduction and energy recovery.

The combination of garden waste shredders and RDF (Regenerative Thermal Dioxide) production technology not only solves the problem of garden waste disposal but also promotes the construction of a circular chain of "waste-resource-energy." Under the "dual carbon" goal, this model provides a feasible path for the resource utilization of urban solid waste, helping to propel the construction of green and low-carbon cities to a new stage.

The Production Process of Converting Garden Waste into RDF
The conversion of garden waste into RDF involves four core steps: First, raw material pretreatment: collecting garden waste such as dead branches and fallen leaves, manually removing large impurities, and then feeding it into a garden waste shredder; second, crushing and processing: the equipment uses a "coarse crushing + fine crushing" process to process the waste into uniform materials with a particle size of 5-10 mm, while a removal device separates stones and metals; third, drying and conditioning: using hot air drying equipment to reduce the material's moisture content to 15%-20% and increase its calorific value; finally, molding and packaging: processing the material into a fixed shape using a briquetting or pelletizing machine, and then packaging it into a ready-to-use RDF product.
