Waste Fiber Shredder: A Key Pre-treatment Equipment for Waste Fiber Recycling
In the field of waste fiber recycling, the waste fiber shredder is a key pre-treatment equipment for reducing material volume and facilitating subsequent processing. It can process various waste fiber products such as polyester, nylon, acrylic, and polypropylene, including waste fiber fabrics, fiber tows, fiber carpets, and fiber packaging bags. It can shred these loose, easily tangled materials into uniform fragments of 5-30mm, effectively solving the problems of large volume and high transportation costs associated with waste fiber, and clearing obstacles for subsequent recycling stages such as opening and melt granulation.

The core structure of the equipment consists of a feeding system, a shredding system, a temperature control system, and a discharge system. The feeding system employs a sealed feeding hopper paired with a screw conveyor, preventing the chemical fiber material from scattering during feeding and ensuring even material delivery to avoid blockages. The shredding system utilizes a single-shaft or double-shaft cutter roller design, with blades made of high-toughness alloy steel and specially heat-treated to ensure not only high sharpness but also resistance to the tensile forces of the chemical fiber material, preventing blade breakage. The roller speed can be adjusted according to the bulkiness of the chemical fiber material to ensure optimal shredding effect. The temperature control system uses a cooling device installed outside the shredding chamber to prevent the chemical fiber from melting and sticking together due to heat generated by material friction during shredding. During operation, waste chemical fiber enters the shredding chamber through the feeding hopper. The conveyor pushes the material towards the cutter roller, which rotates at high speed to shear and tear the material. The shredded fragments are then screened and discharged by the discharge system, completing the pre-treatment process.

Compared to ordinary shredding equipment, waste chemical fiber shredders have three significant advantages: First, an anti-winding design; the special textured surface of the cutter rollers, combined with anti-winding scrapers, effectively prevents chemical fiber materials from entangled on the cutter shaft, ensuring continuous operation. Second, high-efficiency processing; the chamber space and cutter roller speed are optimized for the bulky characteristics of chemical fibers, achieving a processing capacity of 300-1000 kg per hour, 40% higher efficiency than general shredders. Third, environmental friendliness; the sealed feeding and discharging design, along with a dust collection device, reduces the diffusion of chemical fiber dust during shredding, meeting environmental protection requirements.
Operation and maintenance precautions: Before starting the machine, check the cutter clearance to ensure it meets the shredding requirements of the material to be processed; when processing high-bulk chemical fiber materials, control the feed rate to avoid overloading the equipment; in daily maintenance, clean the residual material in the shredding chamber weekly, check the cutter wear monthly, and lubricate the bearings every six months. Currently, this equipment is widely used in waste textile recycling plants and chemical fiber production enterprises, providing important equipment support for the recycling of waste chemical fibers.
