Plastic Mat Shredder: A Specialized Equipment for High-Efficiency Processing of Plastic Mat Waste

In the field of plastic household waste recycling, the plastic mat shredder is a specialized device for solving the problem of difficult-to-process plastic mats. It can shred various types of plastic mats, including PE (polyethylene) anti-slip mats, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) yoga mats, EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) floor mats, and PP (polypropylene) picnic mats, encompassing both single-layer solid-color mats and multi-layer composite mats (such as anti-slip mats with fabric interlayers). It can shred plastic mats with thicknesses ranging from 2-50mm and varying areas into uniform blocks of 15-40mm, providing high-quality pre-processed raw materials for subsequent crushing, granulation, and other recycling processes, significantly improving the recycling rate of plastic mat waste.

The core structure of the equipment is designed around "adapting to thick materials + handling multi-layer structures," including a thick material feeding system, a powerful shredding system, and a stable discharge system. The feeding system uses a widened-opening hopper paired with a hydraulically driven flatbed pusher. The pusher plate is fitted with wear-resistant rubber pads, easily pushing large, thick plastic mats while preventing slippage and jamming during feeding. The core of the shredding system is a dual-shaft high-torque cutter roller. The rollers are equipped with staggered high-strength alloy blades, hardened to HRC60-62, effectively cutting the fiber structure and composite layer adhesion of the plastic mat. The gap between the rollers can be adjusted according to the mat thickness to ensure thorough shredding. The discharge system uses an inclined guide chute paired with a vibrating conveyor to prevent the accumulation of shredded material and ensure smooth discharge. During operation, the plastic mat is placed in the hopper, and the hydraulic pusher smoothly pushes it into the shredding chamber. The dual-shaft cutter rollers rotate in opposite directions at high speed, tearing the mat through shearing and compression. The shredded material falls through the guide chute onto the vibrating conveyor belt, completing the shredding process.

Compared to ordinary shredding equipment, the plastic mat shredder has three core advantages: First, it has a strong capacity for handling thick materials. Its dual-shaft high-torque design can easily shred plastic mats up to 50mm thick, without encountering problems like "unable to shred" or "jamming," achieving a thick material processing pass rate of over 98%. Second, it has good compatibility with composite structures. The staggered blades effectively separate the composite layers of the mat, avoiding residual layers that could hinder subsequent processing, improving composite material processing efficiency by 60% compared to general-purpose shredders. Third, it operates stably. The hydraulic pusher and dual-shaft drive work in tandem, resulting in minimal load fluctuations and continuous operation for over 8 hours, with a failure rate 40% lower than ordinary equipment.

Operation and maintenance precautions: Before starting the machine, adjust the blade roller gap according to the thickness of the plastic mat; the gap should be 2-3mm smaller than the mat thickness. When processing plastic mats with metal clips (such as outdoor picnic mats), remove the clips beforehand to avoid damaging the blades. In routine maintenance, clean the residual material in the shredding chamber weekly, check the blade wear monthly, and change the hydraulic oil in the hydraulic system quarterly to ensure stable equipment operation. Currently, this equipment is widely used in waste furniture recycling plants and plastic mat manufacturing enterprises, providing key equipment support for the recycling of plastic mats.
