Three optical sorters shipped to Mexico

Three optical sorting machines for waste bottles and cans have been shipped to Mexico.

Recently, three optical sorting machines, specifically designed for sorting waste materials, were shipped to Mexico after completing commissioning at a domestic production base. These machines will focus on the precise sorting of discarded bottles and cans, injecting new momentum into the local waste sorting and resource recycling industries.

Discarded plastic bottles, glass bottles, and metal cans account for over 20% of Mexico's municipal waste. Traditional manual sorting is inefficient and has poor classification accuracy, resulting in a large amount of recyclable material ending up in landfills. The optical sorting machines being exported are equipped with multispectral recognition technology, enabling rapid differentiation between different materials for bottles and cans. By identifying the PET material of plastic bottles, the light transmittance of glass bottles, and the metallic properties of cans, they enable automated sorting with an accuracy of over 98%. They can process 800 kilograms of discarded bottles and cans per hour, six times more efficient than manual sorting.

The head of a cooperating Mexican recycling company stated that the region is promoting waste sorting policies and urgently needs efficient sorting equipment. During a previous inspection of a domestic production line, they were impressed by the equipment's precise sorting capabilities for mixed bottles and cans, and immediately decided to purchase three units to improve the recycling plant's pre-processing efficiency.

To ensure the smooth operation of the equipment, the technical team has developed a multilingual operating manual and arranged online training. The equipment is expected to arrive in Mexico City in two weeks. Once operational, it will increase the local bottle and can recycling rate by 35%, reduce landfill volume by approximately 120 tons annually, and lower labor costs for recycling companies by 40%, providing "Chinese technical support" for the development of Mexico's circular economy.
