1000 MSW shredder was shipped to the Philippines
A 1000 MSW shredder was shipped to the Philippines, empowering the green transformation of an SRF plant.
Recently, a medium-sized 1000-model shredder designed specifically for solid waste (MSW) processing departed from a professional environmental protection equipment manufacturing base in China for the Philippines after completing multiple rounds of performance verification and customized commissioning. This equipment will be used in a local emerging solid recovered fuel (SRF) plant, providing core pre-treatment support and helping the Philippines improve its waste resource utilization.

SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) is a high-calorific value alternative fuel produced by shredding, sorting, and drying mixed household waste. It is widely used in industrial applications such as cement kilns and power plants, effectively reducing reliance on fossil fuels. As the front-end checkpoint of the SRF production line, the shredder's performance directly impacts subsequent sorting efficiency and fuel quality. This 1000MSW shredder is tailor-made for this critical process.

This equipment utilizes a "single-shaft, low-speed, high-torque" design with a 1-meter main shaft and a high-strength alloy cutter assembly. It specializes in processing mixed household waste commonly found in the Philippines (such as plastics, fabrics, wood, cardboard, and kitchen scraps). Its optimized crushing chamber capacity allows for a single-pass processing capacity of 10-15 tons/hour. It can evenly crush large, irregularly shaped MSW to an ideal size of less than 50 x 50 mm. This ensures sufficient material disaggregation (facilitating subsequent magnetic and air separation of high-value components such as metals and plastics) while avoiding the increase in dust caused by excessive crushing. In response to the stringent fuel calorific value requirements of SRF plants, the equipment precisely controls the discharge size to minimize calorific value loss in the crushed material, laying the foundation for subsequent production of high-quality SRF fuel.

Considering the high temperature and humidity of the Philippines' tropical monsoon climate, the equipment features enhanced corrosion protection and heat dissipation. The exterior is constructed of galvanized steel with a wear-resistant coating, and double-layer seals are installed on key bearings to effectively resist erosion by humid air. The motor and hydraulic systems are equipped with intelligent temperature control modules that automatically adjust heat dissipation based on ambient temperature, ensuring stable operation even at temperatures above 35°C. Furthermore, the equipment's user interface supports multilingual switching (including English and Filipino) and integrates fault warning and remote diagnostics, lowering the operational and maintenance requirements for local technicians.

The Philippines is actively promoting its "Circular Economy Roadmap," aiming to increase the resource utilization rate of domestic waste from the current rate of less than 20% to over 50% by 2030. SRF, as a "bridge fuel," is a key development area. The introduction of this 1000MSW shredder will not only help the local SRF plant increase its daily processing capacity (each unit is expected to process over 200 tons per day) but will also facilitate the transition of mixed waste from landfill incineration to high-value utilization.
From exporting equipment to empowering the world with technology, Chinese environmental protection equipment companies are deeply involved in global solid waste management with adaptable solutions. This 1000MSW shredder shipped to the Philippines is both a microcosm of China-Philippines green cooperation and another practical example of how Chinese intelligent manufacturing is contributing to global sustainable development.
